Originally by: Gloomy Gus Wow, nice job ISS.
Gotta tell ya unlike a lot of goons I always thought that the ISS ideal was good. Too bad you didn't stick to it, it gave "hundreds of bored goons" gates to camp though which was fun I had a great time back then how bout you?
Now we are talking about events happened around 1 year ago I think? First of all, ofc I am a bit biased, I try to be as objective as possible, but hey even I am human
While we have been "attacked" from IAC, we (ISS) made a contract with MC to solve the situation. It came to a stalemate and around at the same time Goons and TCF joined the fight versus ISS (alone, as we didn't contracted MC again). We received some casual help from LV, they did their best, but they were busy elsewhere. Against IAC we were able to at least hold the ground, but the combined forces of IAC/TCF/Goon were to much, I know some ppl will start trolling now, I personally think there is no shame to loose versus these 3 alliances, especially if we look at the composition ISS was in the PAST. We tried to be neutral, we had alot of carebears, but we were able to field some fleets, obvisiously not enough to face the combined efforts.
After we lost Catch we looked where to go, Providence stations were nice, but not that nice as Tenerifis and Omist. We tried to hold our ground there. The Front was in Tenerifis. Once again we fought against several alliances, mostly KOS and IAC, if needed to get numbers Goons joined as well. We did our best, but yes we were not able to hold ground again. We received some help, but as before LV was under heavy attack and BoB at this point looked like they didn't have decided yet to join the fight there or not.
So in the end we lost our whole "neutral" territory against IAC/TCF/KOS/Goon. We really wanted to keep up the public outposts, but obvisiously they were not wanted from the community anymore. Life is changing, as Eve is as well.
To come back to the quote, we did not wanted to give up our ideals, we were forced to! In my opinion it was a clever move from coalition to remove a neutral identity which is between them and their targets and are open to dock for everyone (regarding strategy and tactics). I tbh got no clue if the "coalition" even existed at that moment, but at least after the LV attack it was obvisiously that a new bloc has been formed. Anyone is really wondering that we had no symphathy with the coalition after these "incidents"?
Regarding the following moves, there are several opinions regarding the "Great War", some say we contributed nothing at all, others say we tried but failed, others say we did an at least decent job. Everybody sees it from a different view, that's normal.
After all ISS itself had to choose sides, we choosed the side which is against the bloc which was able to capture our OPs. We were never really close to BoB, they killed us as everyone else did, (there are theories about BoB-alts, but I got no clue if they are true or not), the one realy important reason was to fight against our hostiles together with Allies who share the same feelings against the coalition. Not more, not less.
We did not leave Esoteria without a tear in the eye, but we realized it is better to move out and keep on fighting, then to get trapped alone in the constellation we owned (as changing sides was never an option).
We all wanted to move to Fountain and keep on fighting. There some misunderstandings happened and BoB set us neutral without warning. No matter what exactly happened (I am not Count and I am not Molle, sry), it was imo not acceptable to remove standings within minutes and not even giving us time to get out our assets from the stations of the pilots we fought side by side.
So now we are standing here, we decided to let the past be the past and to start new. Where will the future lead us? Nobody knows, we will see.
Thx to the pilots I had the honor to fight with and against, I/we had alot of fun.
